What we can confirm

CBS News directly reported that an internal Army message concerned possible availability of Army Reserve support units for U.S. Southern Command within 90–120 days, and that multiple U.S. officials said the request was part of continued military planning aimed at Cuba. The report also explicitly stated that no units had received deployment orders and that no decision to conduct an operation had been made. Thus, the claim is accurate when understood as preparatory planning, not as proof that military action was imminent or authorized.
