Radio signals from outside of our solar system were detected for the first time by astronomers

What we can confirm

The claim is too broad and is false as stated. Radio signals from outside the Solar System were detected in the early history of radio astronomy: Karl Jansky identified radio emissions from the Milky Way in the 1930s. The September 2026 finding concerning Beta Pictoris b is a narrower first: the first direct radio detection unambiguously localized to a single exoplanet, rather than the first detection of any radio signals originating beyond the Solar System.
