What we can confirm

Reporting on September 25–26, 2026 stated that YouTube, TikTok, Meta's Facebook and Instagram, and X initially rejected paid advertising for Alex Gibney's upcoming documentary Musk, generally citing political-content rules. However, subsequent reporting on September 26–27 stated that Meta and YouTube reversed those decisions and cleared the ads. The absolute claim that all ads and promotions were being censored is therefore no longer accurate and overstates the documented events.
