What we can confirm

Contemporary reports from Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Entertainment Weekly, TheWrap, The Independent, Polygon, and other outlets state that production on The Batman Part II was temporarily paused while Matt Reeves stepped away to focus on a family or personal matter. The studio statement confirms the pause and Reeves's reason, though it does not describe the leave as a formal employment status.
